Privacy policy

area stratégie inc. ("area stratégie", "we") values the protection of your personal information. This policy explains what information we collect on this site, why, how we use it and what your rights are, in accordance with Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25). In case of discrepancy, the French version published at areastrategie.com/legal/confidentialite prevails.

Information we collect

We only collect the information you voluntarily provide to us, mainly through our contact form:

• Your name;
• Your email address;
• The name of your organization (optional);
• Your profile, portfolio size, current phase and city or target area (optional);
• How you found us (optional);
• The content of the message you send us (optional).

We also collect browsing data (pages viewed, referral source, device type) through two audience measurement tools, for statistical purposes. One of them sets cookies that let us recognize a repeat visit. See the "Cookies and audience measurement" section below.

Purposes

The information you send us through the form serves two purposes:

• Respond to your request and communicate with you;
• Assess a potential collaboration as part of our services.

Improving the site relies solely on the aggregated, anonymous measurement data described below, never on your personal information. We do not use your information for other purposes without your consent.

Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes.

This site's form is handled by Formspree, a form management service acting on our behalf, whose infrastructure is located in the United States. Your information passes through it and is held there for the time needed to process your request. We assessed this arrangement and keep it to the strict minimum: no sensitive field is requested, and no data is passed on to any other third party.

Browsing data, on the other hand, is partly processed by Google, whose infrastructure is located in the United States and other countries. This covers only the audience measurement described under "Cookies and audience measurement": the form's information is never sent to Google.

Retention

We keep the form's information for twenty-four months after our last exchange, then destroy or anonymize it. You may request its deletion before that term.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information against loss, unauthorized access and disclosure.

Cookies and audience measurement

This site uses two audience measurement tools, with distinct roles.

index is our primary tool, which we host and operate ourselves. It works without cookies, without advertising identifiers and without individual profiling: it only collects aggregated, anonymous data (pages viewed, referral source, device type, interactions such as form submissions) that cannot identify you. This data is kept on cloud infrastructure under our control, located in the United States.

Google Analytics covers one thing index cannot: telling a first visit apart from a return to the site. To do so, it sets two cookies on your browser (_ga and _ga_32YYYHTLF1) holding a random identifier, valid for two years. That identifier is tied neither to your name, nor your email address, nor any information you send us through the form: we never connect the two. Your IP address is not retained by the tool. We enable no advertising, no targeting, and no sharing of this data for advertising purposes.

You can exclude your browser from both tools at any time from the measurement opt-out page. The setting applies to one browser and one device at a time, so it has to be set again on each one you use. Refusing or deleting the cookies has no effect on your access to the site or on how we handle your request.

Your rights

In accordance with Law 25, you have the right to access your information, have it corrected, withdraw your consent and, in some cases, request its deletion. To exercise these rights, write to info@areaservice.ca.

We may change this policy. The current version is always published on this page, with its last-updated date.
